To coincide with the opening of the Ashmolean’s new galleries of Ancient Egypt and Nubia, the Museum is hosting an installation of contemporary work by artist Angela Palmer, inspired by the collections. ‘Unwrapped’ offers visitors a unique and intimate glimpse beneath the wrappings of an Egyptian child mummy, in a series of remarkable sculptures based on CT-scans made of the mummy at the John Radcliffe Hospital in 2006.
