Join teams of determined individuals as they band together to design and create some of the best trebuchets seen since the Middle Ages! The siege machines will be tested by seeing how far they can fling water balloons; the record to beat from previous years being an impressive 50 metres! The day will also include other hands-on activities such as rocket-building, with prizes to be won by inventors of all ages. So, if you fancy yourself as a rocket engineer, are a budding conqueror in the making or, for those aged 6-16, would like to have a go at building a smaller Scrapheap Challenge-style version, come along to the 2012 Trebuchet and Rocket Building Competition at Cokethorpe School.
