Lectures and debate on the causes and treatments of infertilityBiology conference on the causes and treatments of infertility, held jointly by the Oxford International Biomedical Centre and St. Edward’s School Oxford; come and listen to and debate with the experts. This conference will be of particular interest to sixth form students who are considering studying medicine or biological studying medicine or biological sciences at University. Worldwide it is estimated that one in seven couples have problems conceiving; however, about one in five cases of infertility has no clear diagnosed cause. For many, IVF is the only hope. What about ethical issues; including the use of embryonic stem cells? The science, treatment and ethics of infertility will be discussed by experts from Oxford and Manchester University. During ‘break-out’ sessions and a short debate, participants will be able to quiz the speakers and put their own views forward.
