General interest lecture with Prof David Pyle linked to the RMS Outreach Activities

Come along and peer into the microscopic world of magma. Hold some of the youngest rocks on Earth, and use a microscope to find out why pumice floats, why obsidian is dark, and how tiny crystals in lava can be used to see deep into the Earth's crust.
